Trend trading is one of the most effective and easy to use methods for making money in the market period. Success depends on identifying and catching the trend after it has started and getting out of the trend as soon as possible after the trend reverses.
One of the first rules of trend following is that price is the main concern. A trend is nothing but the general direction of the price of an asset or market in general.
Trend Trading involves taking a position in the markets with a view of holding that position for days to months for larger than normal gains. Trading with the trend is the most risk free way to make money in the markets. Trend Trading will help you take large profits out of the market, without having to watch the Forex market on a minute-by-minute or even a day-by-day basis. One of the unknown reasons why so many traders lose is that most of what you read in books, what I call "the conventional wisdom of trading," doesn't work.
It's not unusual to see FX trend traders double their money in a short period if they catch a strong move. Unfortunately, most Forex traders fail because they lack a fully tested trading plan, they are negatively influenced by their emotions, and they lack the key personality traits.
Many systems available today just scratch the surface, without ever educating traders on the most important aspects of the market. The end result is that many undisciplined traders suffer a margin call and lose most of their speculative capital.
Keep things simple and follow the trend, especially if you are seeing your trading account deteriorate.
